Forensic Medicine is defined as “Application of medical knowledge to aid in administration of justice”. The Department deals with medico-legal work like Autopsy, exhumation, age estimation, and instils a sense of professional ethics and responsibility and thereby helps young medicos in attaining higher standards in medical practice and avoid medical negligence.
The Department has a well-equipped Mortuary with cold storage facility for dead bodies, well lit and ventilated autopsy room.
